hey, the best thing about it, it’s a convertible, you can sit in it and watch the stars come out!

The fact that car is still running after 31 years of abuse from Tom and you, makes me think this car had something special.
I’d buy it in a heartbeat if I were in the US.
And I’d fix it up. -

Awesome video, Joe!

Heh, cool car though. If I lived in Chicago (or US for that matter) I’d totally buy it! And then go on a road trip with it! I love old cars, currently have one 25-year old VW and a 25-year old Ford. Hope the Fiat finds a good owner.

@trwsandford, My bad, Wonder why 5 speeds were so rare on American subcompacts and pickup trucks back then.

trwsandford Says:
@0554joe probably because they were designed by the same guy…

trwsandford Says:
This car is simply a victim of time and neglect.
the fact that is has been neglected for 31 years, and still runs quite well… seems to me, to be a selling point.

This guy is a smacked ass. And any mechanic who can’t figure out how to fix this car isn’t worth his weight. This is a great survivor car and is far from a p.o.s.

I’ve had ’78 & 81 Fiats. ’81 had 169K mi before it died. Loved both of them!

ford9572 Says:
@554joe I think they both have the same wheelbase, width and wheel traction and I think both have 4 speed manual transmissions, Engines might share the same displacements also.

Is not this the car that has not had its oil changed in how many years?

A friend of mine had a Fiat Spider that I would occasionally help him work on. He had the same problem, a trunk full of stuff that had fallen off that he wasn’t quite sure where it went. And when the fuel pump quit, he assured me that the car would conyinue to run via “osmosis”…
