Question by natashaiera: Can a towing company sell my car in a lien sale if I have already paid them and received my car?
My car was towed for 30 days because my fiance was driving without a license. We paid almost $ 2,000 to get my car out of impound, and now the dmv sent me a letter saying that if I return the bottom filled out within 10 days the towing yard will not have a right to sell my car unless they get permission from court. It also said total amount due: $ 600. So I don’t know if they’re trying to make it seem like we did not pay, or really what is going on. What should I do? Also, we paid the impound yard with cash, but we did get a receipt. Could this be why they’re doing this?

Go to the DMV and show them the letter and impound paid receipt and ask them what is going on.
Second the bottom part of the title is to release responsibility of the vehicle that has been sold. You have not sold it, so why would you release it.

You need to be speaking to the impound yard. Why haven’t you asked them this question?
