I have heard stories of vehicles worth $8,000-$10,000 being sold at various vehicle auctions in LA County as low as 50% on the dollar…Apparently repossesed vehicles and vehicles seized by law enforcement…is there any truth to this? Will there be a bunch of dealers at the auctions ready to outbid me for anything worth buying? Anyone with any experience in this and if so…Where are some good auctions to check out? Thanks!

some times you get a good deal and sometimes you dont.i just bought a 1991 Mercedes- Benz 420 for $300.00 bucks and it runs good and looks nice.as for where to go in L.A i couldnt tell you.

u need to know what u r looking at and how much it is worth(so u dont over bid). Yes there will be dealers there but they want to buy low so they can realize more profit. U should be able to outbid dealers unless it is really special or hi demand vehicle. Many times vehicles are ay auctions because they need some repairs that a dealer is not willing to spend the money on . Caveat Emptor

Yes, There are times where you can get screwed at an auction, where the title is not avalible immediatley or it could have a salvage title and the auction not know it. I mean you can get decent cars at lower cost such as $ 300.00- $ 5,000 for a vehicle. The nice thing is is that there is normally about 24 -30 lanes running cars so you have to be quick to get to lanes if there is a certian vehicle your looking for. At auto auctions there are normally computers where you can type in make and model and they give you a list of which lanes they are running in and if they have already run and didnt sell it would give you the location of the vehicle and the time it would be ran back through!
it is not all repossesed vehicles and autos like that or ones that need repair, alot of Dealerships run trade in vehicles that they cant put on their over flow lot, or just cant sell at a decent price at their cost. Another thing is that dealerships that have loaner cars for their customers have to run the vehicles at auction once they hit the mileage in which they cant use them as a loaner car any more. But just a heads up alot of auto auctions require that you have a DEALERS LICENSE, and require you to see a desk clerk to check for validation of a license so you can purchase vehicles there!
My 2009 Mustang GT I got for 10,995 at an auction and it only had 2,000 miles on it.
